Eli Lilly and Co. is reportedly exploring Philadelphia as a potential site for one of its Lilly Gateway Labs biotech incubators, according to industry sources.

The Gateway Labs concept serves as an innovation hub offering shared lab and office space for early-stage biotech companies driven by “scientific curiosity.” These incubators focus on advancing research in Lilly’s core therapeutic areas, including diabetes, oncology, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Tenant companies gain access to state-of-the-art equipment, mentorship from Lilly scientists, and strategic business guidance, fostering collaboration and potential investment opportunities from the Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical leader.

Adding to the speculation, Lilly (NYSE: LLY) recently posted a job opening for a Lilly Gateway Labs Site Head – Philadelphia, responsible for overseeing operations and supporting partner companies. While a company spokesperson declined to confirm plans for a Philadelphia location, the posting suggests that expansion into the city’s growing life sciences ecosystem may be on the horizon.
