Innata Bio Selects Philadelphia for New HQ

Innata Bio Selects Philadelphia for New Headquarters

Innata Bio has selected Philadelphia for its new headquarters as the biotechnology company establishes a permanent home.

The clinical-stage life sciences company will operate from Lilly Gateway Labs at Breakthrough in Center City.

Notably, Innata Bio becomes the second company to join the life sciences incubator since it opened earlier this year.

The company was founded in 2015 as Carthronix and is currently rebranding as Innata Bio.

Previously, Innata operated primarily as a virtual company with a Los Angeles mailing address.

However, the company began searching for a permanent location as it prepared for its next stage of growth.

Philadelphia emerged as an attractive alternative to established biotech hubs like Boston, San Diego, and San Francisco.

Those markets can carry significantly higher operating costs for growing clinical-stage companies.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia offers an established scientific community and expanding infrastructure for biotechnology companies.

The city’s universities, healthcare institutions, research organizations, and life sciences developments have strengthened that ecosystem.

Furthermore, Innata’s move adds another growing company to Philadelphia’s life sciences real estate market.

Lilly Gateway Labs provides emerging biotechnology companies with access to specialized laboratory space and other resources.

That model can reduce barriers for companies that need sophisticated research facilities without developing their own laboratories.

Additionally, shared life sciences environments can support collaboration as companies move through research and clinical development.

For Philadelphia, Innata Bio’s headquarters decision represents another addition to the city’s growing biotechnology community.

It also demonstrates how specialized laboratory infrastructure can help attract companies seeking alternatives to more expensive life sciences markets.
